Our ability to accumulate is more and more outpacing our ability to assimilate, to meaningfully actualize all that we have opportunity to bring (in) to us for purpose of complete human and cosmic flourishing. I am grateful for Pope Leo’s insight, wisdom, and teaching; and for your inspiration, Cameron, in such accessible thoughtfulness. May we all take a deep, long, slow, quiet breath as we ponder our place in this wild pace. Peace in it all…

I like what you say about silence. So, so necessary. I don't always like using the word "mandatory," but wouldn't be interesting to see what would happen if our schools made one hour of silence a day mandatory. The students could read, write, draw, walk, dream, or just look out the window -- but all in silence -- no plugging in -- just 60 minutes of quiet.
