The cruelty was there all along.

It’s part of the DNA of our country

I watched Jimmy Kimmel interview James Talarico the other day and I think his bumper sticker referencing Jesus' table flipping is spot on. https://youtu.be/WLDE9LrGpNk

Thank you for sharing this!! I hadn’t seen this video and it is amazing! Definitely speaking to this corruption and oppression Cameron is addressing.

This phrase "while those in the middle and at the top would gain" gave me pause. I wish you had expanded on the reality of the shrinking middle. Fewer and fewer households fit into this category now and I suspect that number will continue to fall. The administration is also responsible for that even before the Monstrous Ugly Bill. For example, cuts in aide to other countries in the name of "efficiency" has led to cuts to farmers. With more people below the middle, without adequate resources and safeguards, more are suffering. Matthew 25:40 comes to mind.

Sadly, the cruelty is right out there in the big bold capitals and the bullying lines of the sharpie signatures!! But, thank you for partnering charity and policy. We are systemically broken at the federal level so it seems up to non- profits to keep on " feeding the hungry" while, at the very same time, constructing local, systemic infrastructures for the common good.

Thank You.. for the heart's moral question "Who is being asked to suffer so that some else can have more?

What an important reminder to keep advocating for the poor! Thanks for pointing out all the inequities so clearly. I have to keep optimistic that my voice can still be heard about these issues.

"Who is being asked to suffer so that someone else can have more?" Your words say it all. I am shocked to read daily how very very very much money this government seems to have when I read we are spending money on things like vanity projects for the president, outrageous amounts on travel and luxuries for those close to him and on and on.
