Just a note to say thank you, Cameron, for a very helpful view of where we are headed if we don't stop shunning one another. Speaking with a person (who used to be friend or family member) regardless of where we stand is important. essential I would say. Even taking the time to listen to the other, is huge. You don't have to agree with them...just listen. It shows we care.

Cameron, I so appreciate your help to look at the scary and mystifying choices happening with truthful discernment. Seeing Thomas Massie, the Republican Congressman from Kentucky, who has challenged Trump’s Big, Beautiful Bill and other T’s actions, lose in the primary was another gut punch! Your meditation today captures some deep and vital pieces to what is happening. I am currently reading “Stolen Pride” by Arlie Hochschild, who also wrote “Strangers in Their Own Land.” As a Sociology Professor, she has recently done a deep dive using interviews and research in the second poorest county of Kentucky, to shed light on why these people are voting for Trump often against their best interests.

I highly recommend her book. Barack Obama has said it is in his top ten of the year. It is deepening my understanding of how the emotions pride and shame are directing their choices. And she invites liberals to step up in listening as the research indicates we need to do better🙏🏼💕

So many of us are mystified why people are voting for corrupt politicians. This is the most insightful view I’ve seen. Thanks!

Thanks for articulating all of those insights that swim in my mind, but never coalesce into spoken words.

You always say what you say so perfectly! Jesus could not have spoken any clearer!

Excellent insight into how and why many people think. It is a scary thing to consider how this could play out in the years to come.

Are you a Buddhist? You quote Buddha all the time and seldom mention Jesus?
