Thank you Cameron - we need to (re)remember, once again, the ‘great conversation’ and once again start talking again to the rivers and the trees 🙏

Thank you once again... for clarifying why this all feels like and is such a desecration...

I value your thoughts and your clarity about all this every day!

You reminded me of the poem by Elizabeth Barrett Browning

“Earth's crammed with heaven,

And every common bush afire with God,

But only he who sees takes off his shoes;

The rest sit round and pluck blackberries.”

However, we might want to amend it to: "the rest watch the land get desecrated" or some such thought.

Rohr's idea of the Universal Christ certainly wants to remind us that the earth is crammed with heaven.

I agree with you how serious the crises is in US today… clearly Trump/Maga is a whole other dimension of greedy/stupid/ and completely crazy in the crazy world of politics.

What stood out for me in your essay is the quote by Richard Rohr, “ The soul must learn to stand on its own field of perception and trust what it sees.” To me this is the key understanding . But I wonder if my interpretation of this quote is different from yours.

To me the quote is referring to the attainment of of non- dual awareness. To me it is about the coming to the realization that what you are is literally a field of perception. As I see it it’s about realizing the truth…that the Kingdom of Heaven is within you..,that you are literally the imagination of yourself.

I believe this is what Helen Keller came to realize… she found her true self and “she “ awakened to “her” true essence. I believe she came to the realization that what she is is a spiritual being having a human experience…that what we are in essence is part of one mind experiencing itself subjectivity. Or as Bill Hicks put it.. “there is no such thing as death. Life is a dream and we are the imagination of ourselves.”

In other words I believe that we must come to realize in sufficient numbers and in every fibre of our being, that everything is made of mind as opposed to matter. That in truth That Everything is God….There Is No Spoon.

I know that mainstream Christians and other religions don’t believe what I’m saying. And although I’ve been following Richard Rohr and CAC for years and been hugely influenced and inspired the message, I’m still not sure if he would share my interpretation and faith in what it means to learn to Stand In Your Field Of Perception.

One last thing…after struggling with these concepts for 15 years, the shift and breakthrough into to non - dual awareness happened to me almost immediately after discovering the Headless Way teaching by the British mystic Douglas Harding.
