Beautiful analogy. Very helpful, yet I can’t help but think of what an invasive species Bamboo is and how it takes over entire areas. I guess the moral of the story might be to be mindful of who is planting and what they’re planting.

Thank you for the story of bamboo...I can add that to my "No mud No Lotus thinking. I look forward to your posts every day. Thanks again.

Can you share more about your 'no mud no lotus' idea?

“Most people are afraid of suffering. But suffering is a kind of mud to help the lotus flower of happiness grow. There can be no lotus flower without the mud.”

Thank you for sharing this metaphor with us, Cameron. Your description of roots deepening shifted my feeling of "stuckness" into holy anticipation. Every single day, there are millions of us quietly connecting with others in mutual aid societies and loving our neighbors. These networks provide a living foundation to build upon. It's an exciting and hopeful thing to be a part of!

So much of life is full of “underneath” growth. Growth that is not visible for long periods of time and then, “presto!” It’s like opening a window blind as the morning sun rises. Thank God, for these moments of growth. They teach us so much about life and ourselves! Blessings to you, Cameron!

Thank you for this reminder that even though it doesn't look like good things are happening, they are.

Very encouraging, and a good reminder that we need to cultivate the virtue of patience (which I for one am not very good at ;) )

May we trust life, growth

“we cannot yet see...” faithful,

gradual, underground.

The seeds maybe nurturing, however, it is too late for the USA. What Trump has and keeps on doing, unabated, is destroying the USA. What doesn’t seem to be getting much notice is that the world is slowly and silently moving on. The world is moving around and away from the USA and when this is over and it will be over shortly, the USA will be alone. What’s worse and sad is that you will be broke and alone because nobody will trust the USA.

There will be nobody to blame because the people did it to themselves!!!

Not too late. A great shift is underway. Much damage n more to come. And creative work also alive. Strong. Nurturing the soul n the cultural soil

Thank you for the work YOU are doing, David O'Fallon. It makes a difference! (Close friends are in your SDGT cohort and have spoken highly about your authenticity and compassion.)

Too late for now and the next few generations. The shift, as I see and read it, is not strong. The shift and nurturing are slow and the damage great. To regain trust the citizenry needs to change attitude which under the circumstances will be monumental. It’s not just Trump and his Reich that needs to be gotten rid of, it’s the American I’d that needs to change and there’s upwards of 70,000,000 Americans who still worship him…

Perhaps we won’t trust the governing people of the US, but many people there are sowers of seeds … so trust will be directed toward those.

Once trust is broken it is extremely hard to win back. The USA has broken so many trusts and in particular since Jan 20/25. Even within your own country there is very little trust in the citizenry let alone government. Nurturing is a very slow process and 250 years of progress has been destroyed in little more than a year. It will take generations to regain trust…
