Here in Canada, this is in full gear right now. Who is best to put into control so that we can have more control of our situation as we deal with President Trump and his tariffs that are threatening to upend our economy. We have done this before. In 2008 and 2009 we were met with the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae situation. Tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars lost. One of our contenders for PM, Mark Carney, was at the helm of the Canadian contingent. We weathered that financial storm here and internationally.
I am mindful of Proverbs 3:5 and 6 as well as Psalm 37:5 and 6. It is in our hands when we put it in God's hands. Bless you for the good news you keep bringing. Not an easy road; however, a needful one. Rev. Scott Brown, Canada
Thanks, Scott. We are praying for Canada as you choose your next leader. They will have their work cut out for them, I’m afraid. I’m grateful for our connection through it all.
Perfect imagery, so beautifully rendered. On a sunny morning here in New England, this ballast of a reflection offers gorgeous hope for what stepping into shared responsibility can bring us. Thank you. Thank you.
You say the truth so beautifully! Human control/power is THE grand illusion of humankind! One of the first things I learned in seminary was that the word that gets translated as “faith” in the Bible really means “TRUST,” not a set of beliefs or stories. If we trust in a harmonizing unity in the universe, we do not idolize our WILL, and that goes especially for our “will to power.” This means the whole patriarchal structure will fall. I find that the “radical” (rooted) Ubuntu described by Mungi Ngomane (Bishop Desmond Tutu’s granddaughter) in her book “Everyday Ubuntu” is such a vital, life-affirming foundation, and totally within the Christian understanding of the message of Jesus. It is no wonder that the powers-that-be killed (and continue to destroy) the meaning of the gospel!

The prophets pleaded for a return—not to the past, but to right relationship. Indeed we are neck deep in a spiritual crisis. Thanks for the clarity.

Breathing. Thank you, Cameron. Every word you give us is stabilizing, calming and helpful. Thank you.
