Thanks, Cameron. Howard Thurman once said something similar to your conclusion: “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

I went to the ER last weekend because of chest pain. Six hours of tests and scans revealed “no damage” and no explanation for what had happened. But what is coming clear now is that I am heartbroken. In my case the primary sorrow is beholding my wife’s deepening dementia. I despair. I weep. But I also love “madly” (Duke Ellington). I am being tenderized by love. And it is changing the way I see — everything and everyone.
