"For the night cometh when no man can work"; for the night cometh when we do not see the face of our brother or sister; for the night cometh when and justice is denied; for the night cometh and we feel as if day has disappeared; but the sun will rise, the day will come, and on that day we will not walk around the victim, we will walk toward the victim and see the face of God.

This is extraordinary, John. I surmise the opening quotation is a reference to the Sabbath day and the invocation of beauty is yours. Many thanks 🕊️

We will not become who we a meant to be as a people until we embrace the other as brother /sister...the SAMARITAN resides within each of us...it is time to release this communal energy.

I read actor George Takei's illuminating memoir, (Sulu on OG Star Trek), They Called Us Enemies, about his experience in a Japanese Internment Camp when he was very young. He points out his family's experience, as non-white American citizens losing their constitutional rights and held as prisoners, and compares it to today's headlines. Fear can justify most horrors of ill treatment of "others".

Thank you for sharing this. Very thought provoking. Upon reflection of this article I feel moved to see things differently and be an Agent of peace and compassion as best that I am able.

We live in very scary times and the 30s are replaying all over again. It’s the same playbook and the people especially the American People generally are si ignorant to its dangers. Even if the Democrats win in November, what will actually change???

this is so beautiful. Yesterday, starting before sunrise, ICE and Border Patrol and even our local police invaded our immigrant community. Perhaps they looked at that website, and in the early morning hours, were unable to see that that man on his bicycle at 6 a.m. was not an alien - he bleeds red, just like you do. He, as the rabbi said, is a human being. He is the injured man rescued by the Good Samaritan.

Beautiful sentiment and message.

Love the rabbi’s answer about night vs. day. I continue to find it hard to see Trump and his supporters as siblings I am called to love. I also recognize the need to do so in order to help my country and the world emerge from this long night and co-create a new day.

I am so grateful for your meditations, Rev Cameron. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us. My day is always more grounded after reading your daily meditation. Blessings, Janet GV

What is most chilling to me about the making of this website ( and of many of the vitriolic memes coming from Truth Social) is that most likely these are the work of young people-- administration aides and functionaries who know how to be online creators. Do they think it is funny or that they will curry favor?

Words and images are incarnational-- they carry a power of their own as seen in this latest website that will hurt so many more than have already been hurt.
