Gratitude is kwy for continued planting. In my 80 plus years I have received innumerable gifts from those before me. I hope that in whatever years God grants me, that I may continue to plant and nurture the seeds of love still within me.

In his most keepable book, How, Then, Shall We Live?, Wayne Muller offers four questions that every one of us should ask throughout our lives: Who am I? What do I love? How shall I live knowing I will die? What will be my gift to the family of the earth? When opportunity was warranted in my 22 years of hospice chaplaincy, I would present the questions, then begin with the last: What do you want to be your gift to the family of the earth? What do you want to be your lasting legacy? It offered quiet moments of consideration, including how the respondent could work the questions backwards, if you will, enabling her/him to refine and adjust and recreate in order to be that gift they yearned to be. May we all know peace as we discover our giftedness.
