Thank-you, again, for your words of wisdom. What spoke to me was the question in the spiritual practice that asked, "Can I move from trust rather than fear?" When I move from fear, my attempts look more like desires to fix and control. This is almost always received with push-back and resistance. It can create dissonance and division that is often very difficult to reconcile. My challenge is to move from trust, for if I do so, I have an opportunity to take that "pause." In that pause, there is time to take a breath and not rush in to fill the space with my solutions. It is an opportunity to let in the light and spirit that can quietly and gently nudge me in a different direction. And that direction may be simply to be present in the moment.
This is the challenge that I constantly struggle with. But if peace begins with me, then I need to welcome it, knowing that I am never alone, and that there is real hope for the coherence you spoke about today.
Thanks so much for this thoughtful reflection, Cameron. Your invitation to move from effort to coherence, from strategy to resonance, speaks directly to something I’ve been holding in my own life and leadership. So often, when the world feels loud or fractured, the impulse is to do more. But what you name so beautifully is that Life may be asking us not to escalate our effort, but to deepen our alignment. To become, as you say, a conduit—not just for solutions, but for presence itself.
The idea that our contribution is measured not by impact reports or visibility, but by the field we carry—the coherence of our presence—feels both ancient and urgently contemporary. It reminds me of the mystics who speak of becoming transparent to the Sacred, not to disappear, but to allow what is deepest and truest to shine through us unimpeded.
One more thought: I’m increasingly convinced that the work ahead—whether in leadership, activism, or daily life—is less about amplifying our volume and more about clarifying our tone. Coherence isn’t quietism; it’s a form of courage. And perhaps the most radical thing we can do in a dissonant world is to live in tune with something deeper than reaction.
Today’s meditation affirmed what I am sensing in my own spiritual journey. I find myself with some trepidation, letting go of my image of God that I have held since childhood. Also letting go of doctrine that no longer fits with my world experience. This meditation affirmed for me that truly we are in this together. Thank you.
The process of reconciliation has action steps - confession, apology, amends, forgiveness being what most people think and do. But behind these are spiritual principles that are essential for the process of negotiating a new, fairer, less harmful relational structure. Critical to this process is moving out of judging logic into relational logic - love, compassion, mutuality, collaboration, and solution seeking (vs blame). You are spot on that there is a "sensing" aspect of empathy that changes how dialogue and decision-making proceed. The goal of reconciliation is a renegotiated relationship that affirms dignity, integrity, and mutuality as all are included. The spirituality that guides the process is what gives the outcome sustainability or undermines it.
What is becoming more and more clear is that the true intent of spiritual practice however it is engaged is to transform us into being the values inherent in the practice. Then what comes through us as us is sacred and radiates a blessing.
Always deeply grateful for your reflections and words. I don’t know if this gets to your question, but I work every day to stay in relationship with my neighbor who is really struggling, spiritually, emotionally, & physically. She has so much going on and is sooooo opposite of me. I stay grounded with your reflections and what I know to be true — Love will always win. 💖 Keeping the faith even in amidst the chaos of the world and in retirement.
I thank God for your gifts of Sensitivity, your Wisdom-collecting, your own ability to "Center", and your ability to relate to others and to express your wide-relating with others through widely-relatable Meditations.
Thank you Cameron, however, we/someone needs to start revolting and or resisting because every day America is losing itself a little more. At the present rate, there won’t be an America in the not too distant future because they, Trump and his gang will erase it. There were 70 some million Americans voted for this regime and it doesn’t truly matter why right now because many, many more are following him. Those who didn’t vote for this regime change are standing by and watching America lose itself.
We can rationalize all we want, however, if America keeps slipping, there may not be away back. Many, Rutte, my Canadian government are congratulating what Trump did to Iran. They congratulating war not rational coherence or resonant coherence but, war \which in his mind gives him even more licence….
America is following/allowing a deranged man to define 400,000,000 people and the world is watching. In many areas, they are applauding….
Hmm, as I read it, today's post doesn't rule out resistance. Cameron asks instead for slowing down, so we can engage with what is happening from a place of coherence, reflection, honesty, not rushing, not panic. "Don't move the way fear makes you move" (Rumi). Firefighters don't rush into burning buildings - more people will die that way. They may go fast, but with the trained and practiced focus and presence of mind to go fast intelligently, effectively. And doctors operating on dying patients do not rush. They go at a pace where they can be accurate and effective and thoughtful, present to the moment and able to adapt to changing conditions. As Deena Mezger (I think, and as best I recall) said: There are those who want to set fire to the world, we are in danger. There is only time to work slowly. There is no time not to love". As someone who too often is reactive in offering 'care', I know the costs to me and the person I've inflicted care on. I'm trying to slow down, listen more, undo my habits of reactivity. So that when I speak or act or intervene, I do so with more clarity, awareness of what is actually needed and when, where, and how. I try to look to history and those these days who've been struggling against oppression, for how people in the situation we're in now, have fostered kindness, protected the vulnerable, worked for positive change. So this is me writing in haste, and wondering how much I'll regret later. I gave in to urgency. How might I have done better to wait longer, I wonder
When Arjuna entered into the flow it was battle that awaited him. When Jesus entered into the flow it was the agony of the cross. They were acting as Life not on behalf of Life. Something will be asked of each of us. Preparing to be of service to the Divine Will can be our joy, and then joyfully moving with the flow wherever that may lead us.
Yes, a long time and great devastation. Not in my lifetime, for sure. But am very hopeful when I see what my grands here in the Bavarian school system study about 'that time'. Of course the AfD is gaining strength here now, so people are 'forgetting'.
Rutte, Carney, Starmer, Merz, the Christian Nationalists, etc obviously not 'aligned with truth [but] just urgency'. There is 'a way back' - as Germany has experienced. Recommend 'One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This' by Omar El Akkad.

"Let your life become a tuning force for wholeness."
Yes, yes, yes.
Is my life a "tuning fork for wholeness?" -- a beautiful question, as David why would call it.

Beautiful. Being … being centered in Life Spirit… is doing without doing. Being in itself has impact.

I agree Carol, however, look what it took to find the “way back”…..
It will be much worse this time and after bombing Iran, the unknown is scary…
