Piloting Faith: Is life way too busy?

A Word for the Day...
We delude ourselves by thinking that being busy is also being productive. Being busy is just...being busy. It doesn't speak to an outcome. It alone doesn't achieve anything. It's a condition, a way of being in the world.
Over the past year, I have stopped glorifying busyness. I have rejected the frantic anxiety it produces, the excuses I started to make for my missteps because I was moving too fast and doing too much. In that process, I made an important discovery: I was hiding behind my busyness so that I didn't have to take responsibility for bringing my best work into the world. "I was just too busy," I told myself, to do the deep work, the scary work, the meaning-making work of owning my contribution to our world.
If you are really busy, heading into the weekend ready to collapse, ask yourself if you might be hiding from your own potential. It happens to the best of us.
