Piloting Faith: We have to prove a lot in life...

A Word for the Day...
When I walk through the TSA security line in the airport, I have to prove my identity by showing my photo id or passport. When I purchase something on credit, I have to prove that my credit history makes me worthy of a loan. When I apply for a job, I have to prove my credentials.
We have to prove our credibility for many things in our lives. But we should never need to prove our worthiness as a person. The minute you feel the need to do this with someone in your life, you should run the other way. You don’t owe anyone proof of your inherent worth.
- Rev. Cameron Trimble, author of Piloting Church: Helping Your Congregation Take Flight

Blessing for the Week
In solitude, in exile; in the center of community, on its edge; and in all the shadows that lie between, may God dwell with you.
