Piloting Faith: Maybe you should talk to somebody...

A Word for the Day...
I recently read a book that I loved called “Maybe You Should Talk to Someone” by Lori Gottlieb. She is a psychotherapist who tells stories of her conversations with her own therapists and then with some of her patients. She is hysterical. If you have ever been in a therapy session, you will completely relate.
What I love about this book is that it is normalizing mental health support. You don’t have to be on the edge of a complete breakdown to benefit talking to someone. Just like going to the gym makes our bodies stronger, talking to a psychotherapist makes our minds and souls stronger. I am a big fan.
Lately, I’ve been interviewing psychotherapists for my next book. I ask them what issues they are seeing in their patients these days. Every single one of them has said anxiety, depression, loneliness and stress. These are stressful times in which we are living. We are all paying a price. Maybe it helps to consider that you’re not crazy; our world is. If you are struggling, maybe you should talk to somebody.
