Piloting Faith: A friend of mine just had a baby...

A Word for the Day...
A friend of mine recently had a baby, a beautiful little girl who I have yet to meet in person but whose presence in this world already brings me joy. I feel a bit better about our world just because she is now in it. Actually, I feel that way about all of our children.
Children are sacred gifts to us. They remind us that…
Our capacity to love is breathtaking and endless.
A single smile can change everything wrong in our day.
We think we are in control, but we soooo are NOT.
We were never meant to parent alone; we need a tribe to raise a child.
Parenting our young ones is a sacred calling for all of us, including those of us who have not birthed our own. We are all responsible for caring, tending, loving and shaping our young.
I can’t wait to hold this new precious baby girl who has come into our world. I can’t wait to look into her eyes and promise that I will do everything I can to support her parents, support her dreams, and make the world a bit more worthy of the gifts she will bring. It is both my honor and my duty.
I hope you have babies in your life with whom you can do the same. But also remember that many of us "adults" need to be mothered and fathered by our elders too. Do what you can where you can. That's all that is asked of us and all we can do.

Blessing for the Week
Peace to you, God-bearer, God-birther. May you create with integrity, and may your creating connect you with all who labor to bring forth a new creation.
