Piloting Faith: Some advice if you’re facing a fork in the road...
A Word for the Day...
The gift of "forks in the road" is that you have to make a choice. You can’t keep going straight. When you reach one you stop moving, consider your choices, and intuit the right path. You use more of yourself - your senses and your soul - at the forks in the road.
Then you make a decision and take a step. You commit to the new journey. For a while, you think you can still go back. It’s not too far to turn around. But actually, it is too far. Once you commit, you change. You could retrace your steps, but you aren’t the same when you go “back.” It’s then that you realize that “back” is an illusion. There is only now and what could be.
If you are facing a fork in the road, sense which path gives you the most life energy. Which path is lined with Love? Follow that one. It’s the path God has set before you.
Prayer for the Week
Gracious God,
I turn from all that's old and past today,
I turn from selfish sin,
and turn with all my heart to you.
Free me from my old ideas, my lesser self,
my prideful determination
to make my own way in the world.
That was the way of death, not life.
I let it all go.
Raise me up from these waters
to a new life like that of Jesus.
By your grace, make me new
that I might faithfully walk the Way of Love.
Amen
